Motorcycle Events in Ireland You Don’t Wanna Miss This Summer (2025 Edition)
If you’re a biker in Ireland, summer is more than just a season. It’s the heart of the riding year. The roads are alive with the sound of engines, the smell of leather, and the unmistakable camaraderie that only motorcyclists know.
But if you really want to dial up the good vibes this riding season, you’ve got to check out some of the top motorcycle events happening around the island (and just beyond).
Whether you’re into big festivals with live music and ride-outs or prefer the raw buzz of road racing, 2025’s summer calendar is stacked.
Here’s what’s worth marking on your tank bag.
Dates: May 30 – June 1, 2025
Location: Killarney, Co. Kerry
This one’s the biggie. Ireland BikeFest is the closest thing we’ve got to a European-style open bike festival. If you only make it to one event this summer, let it be BikeFest. For three days, Killarney transforms into Ireland’s motorcycle capital.
The Bike Village at the Gleneagle Hotel is the epicenter, buzzing with live music on three stages, food stalls, and a crowd that’s as diverse as the bikes themselves.
Ride-outs along the Ring of Kerry and Wild Atlantic Way are legendary. Imagine twisting roads, ocean views, and a convoy of fellow bikers. The best part? It’s free and welcomes everyone, from die-hard bikers to curious families soaking up the atmosphere.
Dates: August 23 – 24, 2025
Location: Nationwide
Craving adventure and a bit of a challenge? The National Rally is a non-competitive, “shotgun start scatter rally.” Riders plot their own course, aiming to hit at least 12 checkpoints across Ireland in two days. It’s flexible, fun, and all about the journey.
Complete the challenge and you’ll earn a special tee and stickers, plus bragging rights. It’s a proper rider’s event. Open to all makes and models. Bonus: it’s a great excuse to round up your mates and hit the road.
Registration is required, along with club membership and a participation pass, but the memories (and the miles) are worth it.
No stages, no timing. Just you, your bike, and the open road.
Dates: August 1 – 3, 2025
Location: Bishopscourt Racing Circuit, BT30 7EY
Love the roar of classic engines? This is Ireland’s biggest track-based motorcycle event. Expect bike racing, parades, chat shows, live music, and arena trial competitions. Club displays, trade stalls, and a family-friendly vibe make it a highlight for anyone who appreciates two-wheeled history.
VIP hospitality is available if you want to treat yourself, but the paddock is open and welcoming for all. Under-16s go free with an adult, so bring the next generation along.
Held up north at Bishopscourt, this festival brings together over 200 classic machines from all over Ireland and the UK. You’ll see everything from Manx Nortons to 80s race bikes ripping around the circuit.
If you’re into vintage vibes and track action, make time for this one.
Dates: May 31 – June 2, 2025
Location: Athlone, Co. Westmeath
Athlone Bike Fest is all about community spirit and family fun. It’s a cycling festival at heart, but motorcyclists are always part of the celebration. Kick off with a charity spin-athon, join the vibrant bike parade, and watch BMX stunt shows that’ll have you on the edge of your seat.
It is smaller and more local. But that’s part of the charm. It’s got a real community vibe with parades, family-friendly stunt shows, and live entertainment along the Shannon.
There are stalls, local food, and plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. It’s a great way to experience the broader world of biking in the heart of Ireland.
Dates: September 13 – 14, 2025
Location: Athea, Co. Limerick
This is a serious one for road-race fans.
After a break, the legendary Athea Road Races are roaring back this September. The closed-road circuit around Athea village promises high-speed action and grassroots racing at its best.
The local club is pulling out all the stops to make this a true celebration of Irish road racing, with a festival atmosphere and support from the wider biking community. If you love the thrill of racing and the buzz of a rural Irish crowd, mark your calendar.
After being revived in recent years, the Athea Road Races are growing fast. Expect tight corners, high-speed blasts, and racers who’ve done laps at the TT.
Keep your eye out for confirmation, it’s shaping up to be one of the late-season highlights.
Dates: May 26 – June 7, 2025
Location: Isle of Man
Alright, not Ireland technically, but if you’ve never done the TT, what are you waiting for?
TT is a pilgrimage for Irish bikers. Just a ferry ride away, the Isle of Man TT is the world’s most famous road race. This year’s event runs from late May into early June, with a packed schedule of races including the legendary Senior TT.
The atmosphere is electric, the racing is jaw-dropping, and the island fills with fans from across the globe. Two weeks of sheer madness, with some of the bravest riders on Earth flying past stone walls and hedgerows at 300 km/h.
If you’ve never been, this could be your year to experience magic. Even if you don’t bring your own bike, it’s worth going just to witness it in person.
